Generation Now's Interpretation of Kutchi Mirror or Shisha work

Embellishment and embroidery is like a puff of sheer magic that can transform a bit of plain non descriptive fabric into an enchanted yardage of gorgeousness and glamor.

One of our perennial favorite arts of embellishment has always been the Shisha(Mirror) work originating in the Kutch district of Gujarat India, where a tiny shard of glass would be appliqued on a base fabric and then secured by stitching down thread all round the glass thus preventing any jagged edges and creating a perfect reflective ornamentation. This Shisha technique has seen tremendous waves of popularity all over the international fashion scenario and has been ruling the roost in fashion weeks of Paris, Milan, New York, thanks to amazing craftsmanship displayed by foremost names like Barbara Bui, Louis Vuitton, KTZ, Valentino and many more.
 And this popularity has led us to think and explore new and innovative methods to re-interpret this gorgeous embellishment method.and  Voila!!! comes these laser cut, metallic mirror finish, stick-on products in a range of shapes and sizes perfect for usage on delicate Italian tulle or floating silk chiffon, without the heaviness of glass or sharp edges nicking into delicate fabrics or the arduous task of keeping the glass shard in place.... the adhesive at the back will easily keep the shisha in place!!!

EMC TURNS 1 YEAR OLD!! That's right, it's our Birthday!!!!!

A journey that started as a dream .....all that was in  possession was ambition, passion and knowledge.
It was thus that  embroiderymaterial.com was born a year back on  19th June 2013 ..... the sole idea was to amalgamate the entire haphazard sourcing venues of couture grade embroidery material from all the hidden corners of the globe and turn into a unique online wonderland, accessible by everyone worldwide.
So you could possibly be a designer from Auckland, New Zealand and purchase hand wrought gold metallic filigree chains created by the master artisans in Old Delhi, India or purchase liquid fire seed-beads created in the inimitable Japanese technique, to be delivered at the doorstep of your studio in the Meatpacking district, New York.
And this is when the EMC team was created.... a lethal combination of decades of experience in worldwide sourcing  and  in-depth  knowledge of global couture, fashion and trend forecasts.

The shimmery sheer  dresses with opulent embellishment in gorgeous jewel tones and metallic golds, silvers and coppers, had us literally gawking for more!!!!!!!

It's that time of the year when our favorite quartet from Sex and the City brave the slushy sidewalks in their Manolos and Loubs ,just to get themselves front row seats at the New York Fashion Week!!!
As for us, we are absolutely gaga over the gorgeous display of uber-luxurious hand embroidery on the couture-sque  and the fabulous color palette!!!!
So many favorites, so many jaw-droppers, we are finding it hard to choose!!!!!!
